The EVHS Model United Nations Club is an award-winning club that has been active for more than 5 years, participating in “MUN competitions”, or conferences, from places ranging from Santa Teresa High School, to Stanford University. Club members gain leadership experience through participation in unmoderated and moderated caucuses, committee sessions, and conference procedure, all while meeting new people from around the world. This year, we hope to continue our prolonged tradition of excellence and keep building the sense of community we have established within our club, while continuing to grow and expand the club to introduce more people to the unique activity that is MUN. No other club at EVHS participates in MUN conferences except from the MUN club –– don't miss out!

Science Teacher at EVHS
I was raised in Bolivia for most of my childhood before moving permanently to the United States. Due to my international upbringing, I have always been interested in international affairs and the hope that the UN brings to a future of cooperation between all humankind. That is why I was excited to accept the request to advise the Model UN club.
My role as advisor is to support the officers and club members as they make decisions about the club, to make sure that the club is in alignment with school regulations, and to supervise club meetings. The great thing about any club is that students get a chance to practice leadership and agency with an advisor there to coach them if they need help. It is very exciting to support students as they build these life skills that will help them thrive as adults.
