A big thank you to everyone who was able to attend our first meeting at Everton Pavilion. We had an incredible turnout of around 150-200 residents and supporters, with so many people that we even had attendees standing outside.
Big thanks to David O'Callaghan who took on the role of chairing the meeting. He did a fantastic job, giving a clear, concise review of Dandara's proposed development. He continued with a discussion on our best strategy for objection and the avenues available to us.
We called on residents to volunteer for the action group and as street reps for distributing flyers - and you stepped up! We've had a fantastic response and lots of volunteers have come forward.
Your support and commitment to protecting our village was truly overwhelming and since that day we have been inundated with emails of support.

SO WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?Following on from this meeting and your shared concerns & ideas, we are exploring various leads and as soon as we have clarity on the next best steps we will engage with volunteers and update everyone with more details. We must be cautious about what is shared online at this stage as Dandara can see all online activity.

A 'delivery failure' meant 100's of households in Everton never received the official flyer which promoted the public drop in event held at Everton Pavilion. Thankfully a few vigilant residents posted a copy of their flyer to the local facebook groups and were able to spread the word as best they could.
There was a strong turn out to the meeting, many frustrated residents as expected and some sighs of defeat, with some residents believing this is already a 'done deal'.
A local resident, Jane, had put up a sign objecting to the development (with the permission of Everton Pavilion) and to her surprise this was removed by Dandara representatives and hidden in the pavilion kitchen.
With more than an hour of the public drop in time remaining, the Dandara representatives ran out of feedback forms! How convenient.
At the meeting Dandara representatives assured us that they had sent flyers to every house within a 1km radius. Many residents on the 'Everton Residents Against Dandara Development' Facebook page have since reported receiving their flyers in the post a week after the meeting date. It's difficult to know whether this was an strategic move by Dandara or whether the post genuinely was delayed.
