From Cliff Cottam:
School is about to start. Many of you have students in the local schools. Others may just want to help out. Here is the Volunteer page for the Hillsboro School District.
There is also a HillsDoer Day (think Solve for Hillsboro) on October 3 & 4 where you can lead a project or work on projects others lead. Site to volunteer.
November Elections are not far away. Participation and promotion of your political responsibilities is one of our most basic responsibilities as citizenship at all levels. Here is the Secretary of State’s website of the political parties in Oregon. From here you can seek out opportunities to amplify your voice in the elections.
In the near future, we will have more information on the November Election. In the meantime, here is the Washington County Elections Resource Page.\
Cliff Cottam passed along this opportunity to receive training in how to treat someone with a drug overdose.
From Merlin Wilkinson
You can check out a bunch of volunteer opportunities by going to JustServe.org, and typing in your zip code. You can also adjust the mile radius to expand the search for volunteer opportunities.
From Hillsboro Oregon Stake
Dear Hillsboro Oregon Stake,
Our next Red Cross Blood Drive will be August 27th from 1:00-6:00pm at the Hillsboro Stake Center.
If you can donate blood, please use this link or the QR code on the attached flyer to schedule a donation and to learn more. Walk-ins are also welcome but may involve more wait time if there is a queue.
We will need three volunteers for this event to register donors and work the canteen. If you can help, please contact Brother Scott Bradley 503-810-6481Â scott.braadley@gmail.com
Thank you,
