This year's edition of Evergreen Lake Triathlon will be held on Sunday June 23, 2024. It will be a combined youth and adult race, similar to the race we held in August last year. (As of now we will not be holding a youth-only race this year). Link to this year's race is here. Hope to see you there!

Race site: Evergreen Lake. 2375 Benders Drive, Bath, PA 18014
Eligibility: Ages 9 to 17. (*Racing age is age as of 12/31/23, as per USAT guidelines*).

There will also be race day registration.
Field limit: 200 athletes
Race will be held rain or shine.
This race is USA Triathlon sanctioned.

PRE-RACE/CHECK-IN
Parking - park in the gravel/grass lot immediately across the road from the lake. No parking along the road.
Packet pickup and transition area open: 7:00 am to 8:15 am
At check in you will pick up your swim cap and race number
Clear transition area: 8:15 am
Pre-race meeting: 8:20 am
Race start: 8:30 am

400 meters (age 11 & over)
200 meters (age 10 & under)
Start is at edge of lake (not in-water)
Counter-clockwise loop: 11 & over athletes will swim the pentagon shape in the swim map above. 10 & under athletes will swim the triangle.
Keep orange buoys on your left
There will be in-water lifeguards
Wetsuits will be allowed if the water temp is 78 degrees or less. If the water temp is > 78 degrees, no wetsuits will be allowed.
Wave starts based on age
TRANSITION 1
Turn RIGHT when you finish the swim, following cones and moving toward your bike in the transition area.
Enter the transition area where it says "SWIM IN".
Helmets are required! No helmet, no race.
All helmets must be buckled prior to moving your bike out of the transition area.
No bike riding in the transition area.
Leave the transition area where it says "BIKE OUT".
Mount your bike at the mount line once you get out on the road.
BIKE
Age 11 & Over: 6 miles total. Two loops of a 3-mile course.
Age 10 & Under: 3 miles total. One loop of a 3-mile course.
Roads are flat to slightly rolling, with no large climbs.
ANY bike you have is fine (except an E-bike, of course). Road, mountain, gravel, hybrid, BMX, triathlon bikes all acceptable.
Roads will not be closed, but the area is rural with very light traffic on a Sunday morning.
No drafting. (Do not ride immediately behind another rider.)
Please stay on the far right side of the road, except to pass another rider.
Pass other riders only on their left, when it is safe to do so.
PLEASE DO NOT CROSS THE DOUBLE YELLOW LINE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Stay right.
Course marshals will be at each intersection directing athletes where to turn.
Directions (provided only for reference -- you do not need to remember these on race day):
Turn RIGHT out of transition area onto BENDERS Dr.
Turn RIGHT onto DEEMER Rd.
Turn RIGHT onto SCENIC Dr.
Turn RIGHT onto COPELLA Rd.
Turn RIGHT onto BENDERS Dr.
This returns you to the lake/race site. If you are finishing your FIRST loop, continue STRAIGHT and repeat the above directions for your second loop. If you are finishing your SECOND loop, turn RIGHT into the transition area.
After second loop, get off bike at DISMOUNT line. Move toward transition area.
Enter transition area where it says "BIKE IN".

TRANSITION 2

No bike riding in transition area.
Replace bike on rack in its original spot
Don't forget to remove your helmet!
Exit transition area where it says "RUN OUT"
RUN
Follow signs/cones/volunteers.

Leave transition area heading across grassy field towards gravel road
RIGHT on gravel road
FOLLOW gravel road loop clockwise, as indicated by signs/volunteers.
Bear LEFT off gravel road following signs, cones towards finish area
The 11 & over run is the entire route in the map above (including clockwise around the lower loop).
10 & Under
Leave transition area heading across grassy field towards gravel road
RIGHT on gravel road
FOLLOW gravel road until you get to a (180 degree) turnaround sign located at the water/aid station. Run around cone and head back in the direction from which you came.
Bear LEFT off gravel road following signs, cones towards finish area
The 10 & under run turn around is before the loop (i.e. 10 & unders skip the lower loop).

All participants must have a USAT license or purchase one-day license with registration -- see registration page. USAT annual youth membership fee is currently $10.
Sorry, NO PETS ARE ALLOWED AT THE RACE. This is a private lake; a condition of our use of the facility is that pets must not be brought to the lake. Thanks for your understanding.
Camping
Camping is available at the race site, should you wish to stay at Evergreen Lake the night before or after the race. Evergreen Lake Camping & Fishing
Note the campground will only accept two night (i.e. Friday/Saturday) reservations ahead of time. Single night rentals can be made on-site on the day of arrival, but are subject to availability. Contact Evergreen Lake for more information about camping.
