Eligibility: Both races are open to youth athletes 9 and older. Both races are open to adults. (Racing age is age as
of 12/31/24, as per USAT guidelines).

Preregistration is encouraged to reserve your spot, and discounted. (Discount will be applied on listed entry fees if
you register for both races).

PRE-RACE/CHECK-IN
Parking: park in the gravel lot immediately across the road from the lake. No parking along the road. No driving/parking on grass adjacent to transition area.
Packet pickup and transition area open: 7:00 am to 8:15 am
At check in you will pick up your swim cap and race number
Clear transition area: 8:15 am
Pre-race meeting: 8:20 am

Multiple in-water lifeguards on paddleboards along the course.
USAT wetsuit policy: Water temp 78 degrees or lower: wetsuits allowed. Water temp > 78 degrees: no wetsuits allowed.
Wave starts
TRANSITION 1
Exiting the swim, turn RIGHT toward transition area.
Enter transition area at "SWIM IN".
Note: Transition area is "one way". You will always be moving the same direction while in transition. "Swim in" and "Bike in" are at the end of transition nearest the lake exit. "Bike out" and "Run out" are at the far end.
Helmets required. No helmet, no race.
All helmets must be buckled prior to moving your bike out of transition.
No bike riding in transition.
Push bike, leaving transition area at "BIKE OUT".
Mount bike at road.

Super Sprint Triathlon
6 miles total. Two loops of a 3-mile course.
Mini Triathlon
3 miles total. One loop of a 3-mile course.

Roads are flat to slightly rolling.
ANY bike you have is fine (except an E-bike, of course). Road, mountain, gravel, hybrid, BMX, time trial bikes all acceptable.
Roads will not be closed, but the area is rural with light traffic.
No drafting. (Maintain 3 bike lengths between you and the rider in front of you).
Please stay on the far right side of the road, except to pass another rider.
Pass other riders only on their left, when it is safe to do so.
Do not cross the double yellow line under any circumstances.
Course marshals will be at each intersection directing athletes where to turn.
Turn-by-turn directions (for reference only - not needed on race day:
Turn RIGHT out of transition area onto BENDERS Dr.
Turn RIGHT onto DEEMER Rd.
Turn RIGHT onto SCENIC Dr.
Turn RIGHT onto COPELLA Rd.
Turn RIGHT onto BENDERS Dr.
This returns you to the lake/race site.
Super Sprint: If you are finishing your FIRST loop, continue STRAIGHT and repeat the above directions for your second loop. If you are finishing your SECOND loop, turn RIGHT into transition area.
Mini: Turn RIGHT into transition area after one loop.
Dismount bike at DISMOUNT line (edge of pavement, just before grass). Push bike into transition area.

Enter transition area at "BIKE IN"
No bike riding in transition.
Replace bike on rack in its original spot
Don't forget to remove your helmet!
Exit transition area at "RUN OUT"

Leave transition area heading across grassy field towards gravel road.

FOLLOW gravel road "lollipop" loop clockwise, as indicated by signs/volunteers.
Bear LEFT off gravel road following signs across grass towards finish area.
Mini Triathlon
Leave transition area heading across grassy field towards gravel road
RIGHT on gravel road
FOLLOW gravel road until you get to a (180 degree) turnaround sign located at the water/aid station. Run around cone and then head back in the direction from which you came. Mini racers do not do loop portion at far end of run course.

POST-RACE
Food/drinks
Awards ceremony will begin at approximately 10:15 am
Age-group awards for both races
Special awards - 1) Fastest overall combined time for both races (top 3 male and female racers); 2) Fastest parent/child combined time for each race (must do same race); 3) Fastest sibling pair for each race (no age restriction).

Sorry, NO PETS ARE ALLOWED AT THE RACE. This is a private lake; a condition of our use of the facility is that pets must not be brought to the lake. Thank you for understanding.
Camping
Camping is available at the race site, should you wish to stay at Evergreen Lake the night before or after the race. Evergreen Lake Camping & Fishing
Note the campground will only accept two night (i.e. Friday/Saturday) reservations ahead of time. Single night rentals can be made on-site on the day of arrival (subject to availability). Contact Evergreen Lake for more information about camping.
