Everglades


Description/Definition: The Everglades is a nationally known subtropical wetland. It is located in Southeast Florida and is about 41 miles west of Miami. The Everglades contains acres of beautiful marshes, wetland, and Floridian wildlife. It is the only place on the globe where alligators and crocodiles coexist. In addition to these fearful reptiles, the Everglades includes inhabitants such as Python snakes, Turkey vultures, Crappie fish (yes you read that right), Peacocks, Florida Panther, Egrets, Eagles, turtles, skunks, and Largemouth Bass.
