I am currently working on my PhD at the University of Pittsburgh and will be unavailable for tutoring for the 2025-2026 school year while I am getting settled in! Apologies!
My name is Eva Plankey. I am a recent WPI graduate with my BS and MS in Biochemistry. I graduated from Westford Academy in 2020. Currently, I am available for CP, Honors, and AP Chemistry tutoring.
I have tutored students in high school chemistry both online and in person, so being nearby isn't required! My hope is to help make chemistry accessible for as many students as possible. To me, that means being flexible and understanding, with a willingness to meet the student "where they are". I believe every person is capable of mastering chemistry, and I am committed to helping others see their own abilities.
I understand the unique stresses and busy schedules of being a high school student. Not every day will feel like a good day for chemistry, and that's okay! I have a generous cancellation policy, which is outlined on my policies page.
My credentials and reviews from other tutoring students are listed below. As well, I include some of my additional personal involvements, to give you a sense of who I am, just as I hope to get a sense of who you are. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns about my credentials!
If you are interested in my tutoring services for yourself or your student, please fill out the form below and I will reach out to you ASAP. You may also contact me at evaptutor@gmail.com.

Crimson Key Tour Guide
"When I first started working with Eva, I always said that chemistry just didn’t work with my brain and that there was no use trying to explain it to me. It was hard to feel smart when the content didn’t make any sense to me. Instead of giving up or panicking though, Eva rose to the challenge and started from the beginning, taking it at my pace and making sure I really understood what I was doing instead of breezing through the work to get it over with. Honestly she made me feel so supported and smart and turned my failing grade into a passing one. I went from getting zeroes on quizzes to getting 100% and she celebrated along with me. Her patience and kindness and passion really shows through in her tutoring. I couldn’t have imagined someone more genuine and smart than Eva to help me with the daunting topic of chemistry!"

"When our son, a sophomore at a private high school in the Washington, D.C. area, needed a chemistry tutor, our first choice was our niece Eva. We are confident in Eva’s chemistry expertise and knew she would articulate and explain concepts virtually so that they are easy to understand. Eva’s approach has allowed our son to take ownership of the course content and his grades speak for themselves."
- M.S., online parent from Virginia, 2024
"Eva Plankey is the most patient and thoughtful peer to work with. She is always there to answer questions and can guide me through any problem I face both in the lab and on assignments. She is super supportive and I loved working with her."
- M.M., WPI research lab mentee, 2023-24
