Esperanzas Unidas encourages and believes that all girls can succeed in S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) and change the world.
Kindergarten through 6th grade education is free and government sponsored in Honduras
According to the International Fund for Agricultural Development, over 63% of rural inhabitants in Honduras live in impoverished conditions. Only 6% of females age 20 to 29 from these families have completed their secondary school education due to financial barriers and gender discrimination.
Esperanzas Unidas knows that education is the key a bright tomorrow. Our non-profit also understands that introducing these girls to women in S.T.E.A.M. careers now, creates connections and hope for the future
Our non-profit is in search of individual women and/or women-led organizations in science, technology, engineering, arts, or mathematics who can give our leadership girls a sneak peak into what you do and your journey on how you got there.
This could include:
A zoom virtual tour
A virtual panel discussion or Q & A
An in-person tour of your place of work in Honduras
A volunteer work trip to our home base near Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras
