The European Championships will be an open event offering Open Men’s Waveski, HP and IC; Open Women’s Waveski, HP and IC and Open Adaptive Waveski.
Age division results will be extracted from the Open classes. See the detailed breakdown of the competition age divisions below.
We are delighted to have so many athletes from across the global joining us for the event!
To celebrate this we will have team awards in addition to the individual awards. For kayak surf, the definition of a team and eligibility of the athletes will be in keeping with the current WSKA rule book and the team structure used will be as per the new update to the WSKA rule book on the 27th of May 2025. For more details on the rules see our competition rules here. We will also have a team award for Waveski, formatted similarly to that of the new kayak surf team;
2 x Men (Open Age) + (1 reserve)
2 x Women (Open Age) + (1 reserve)
1 x Junior/Cadet + (1 reserve)
1 x Master (35 +) + (1 reserve)
Due to the size of the event we will not be able to have a separate team event but instead will extract the positions of the team competitors from the open. Though we are aware that this is not an ideal structure for a team event, the European Championships in primarily an individual, open competition which takes the priority over other elements.
We will be requesting team managers to put forward their team after the close of registration on the 30th of June.
