Many pre-medical students ask the question, What classes should I be taking? Here is a list of recommended classes, and when the average pre-medical student takes their exams and applies. However, it is important to note, that every student has their own path. Not every student will take these classes, or finish in 4 years. Many pre-health students take a gap year, or what we like to call a growth-year, after their undergrad. In the section under applying to medical school you will find more information about medical school requirements.

Gap years, or as I prefer to call them, growth years, are great for pre-meds. You can use the time to work and gain experience in the medical field, or volunteer. You can also complete a post-baccalaureate program, that can boost your GPA and help you score higher in your MCAT.
