Euphoria Nature Preschool is a Forest Preschool.
The program is inspired by the European Waldkindergarten(forest kindergarten) model that is very popular in countries like Germany and Scotland. We will be spending a large portion of our time together outside exploring forested and beach areas. This time outside encourages imaginative play, creativity, hand-eye coordination, balance, physical strength, and mental clarity. Our educational approach is guided by the following principles:
Experiential: I believe that learning flows organically from stimuli encountered in the outdoors. By encouraging children to use all their senses, they are able to explore nature and make discoveries.
Seasonal: The program follows nature's lead. Therefore, our program is seasonally rhythmic. We use what is happening in nature and our calendar to pique the curiosity of the children.
Place-Based: We will be learning about the natural world in our geographical area. This will help students create a close relationship with the plants, animals, and weather close to where they live. I hope to encourage the children to feel a sense of place, belonging, and community.
Interest-Led: When outside our outings will be shaped by the animals, plants, weather, and curiosity of the children. When we discover something interesting, we observe it, talk about it, and ask open-ended questions about it. I will make use of teachable moments.
Goals Of The Program
I will provide children with the opportunities to:
Create a safe and inclusive community where they can explore, discover, learn, and grow.
Problem solve and resolve conflicts in a respectful way.
Develop an empathetic connection with nature and their friends.
Gain critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Gain early literacy and numeracy skills.
Develop a sense of joy and wonder.
Most importantly have fun!
PS.We have a lovely cozy indoor space to warm up on those chilly wet days!
Before School
8:00-8:50
My Before School Care is like a home away from home. A great start to the day by shaping the morning how the kids like. Whether it's colouring, reading a book, lego buidling, or playing outside, it's completely up to them. Following the child's lead and interest is a great way to start our day!
We take a short walk through beautiful bluebell garden, noticing the different plants and animals that emerge, on our way to school.
After School Care
2:40-5:30
My educational and fun After School program will mainly be outside exploring forested and beach areas. Our time outside encourages imaginative play, creativity, hand-eye coordination, balance, physical strength, and mental clarity. My educational approach is guided by the following principles:

Monday-Friday 8-5
In my 7 week Nature Summer Camp we will enjoy the best of summer by discovering, exploring, learning, and having fun in and with nature!
We will learn about the past in our area by steping back in time to look at the life of dinosaurs. Focusing on the Elasomaur which was found along our beautiful Puntledge River. We will go fossil hunting along the Trent River. Then we'll head to the Courtney Museum to look at the Elasmosaur who was found by Heather and Mike Trask and see the other amazing dinosaurs and fossils discovered in our local area.
Next up we will learn about Nature where our first focus will be on insects. We will take a trip to butterfly world to see these amazing tiny beings that bring so much joy and wander.
Then we will wander into the forest. While exploring there we will discover edible plants and enjoy their deliciousness while learning of their medicinal properties. While in the forest we will talk about the forest fairies and make gifts for these magical tiny beings.
For our last couple of weeks will head to the beaches to soak up some vitamen sea. Using all our senses we will explore the amazing creatures that call the ocean home. Through our explorations, books, educational videos and wonerful places such as the Deep Bay Marine Station and Discovery Aquarium we will gain knowledge about these creatures and how we can help respect and protect them.
I look forward to having your child join us on these fun nature adventures!!
Excited to Explore, Discover, Learn, and Grow with your family!!
