Eunjin Lee

I am currently a PhD candidate in the Speech Acquisition Lab in the Department of Linguistics and a Korean/ESL instructor at the University of Utah.

My passion, as a linguist and language teacher, lies in understanding how adults acquire new languages and making language learning more accessible to diverse learners, using the knowledge and expertise I have acquired as a researcher. Although the internet and technology have increased access to online language learning, these resources often fall short of the quality found in higher education. I seek opportunities to make positive and effective learning experiences.

My passion lies in bridging the gap between science and real-world application. Through my journey of researching in-depth knowledge and involving in research projects, I observed that while theories regarding language acquisition are well-developed and tested, they are less often applied to real-world language learning and teaching. My teaching experiences in English and Korean and training as a quantitative researcher have equipped me to bridge the divide between scientific communities and practical application and develop higher-quality learning content and curricula. This combination fuels my commitment to driving positive change in language education beyond traditional academic boundaries.
