Sometimes we just don’t know, that we don’t know…
Now that we understand how diverse everyone’s views are from the last Ethical Science Adventures lesson, it’s time to look closely at our own viewpoints, particularly our blind spots.
Blind spots are kinda tricky. They are the parts of our visual field that we can’t see unless we turn our head to look. Often times, we don’t even know that we have them until we bump into something!
Assumptions and biases are blind spots in our thinking, and when they are revealed the world becomes so much more interesting!
Interacting with other people and seeking out different points of view help us discover the assumptions and bias in our thinking. We can also test our biases by asking ourselves why we believe the things that we do.
