The Mini Cooper S 2007 is a car that I decided to model for my final project of my 3D modelling module during my first year of university. This model incorporated everything I had learnt from the module such as the different modelling techniques like lofting, extrusion modelling, patches and NURBS. Along with this model, I also created a rendered video showcasing the model in extra detail.
I am very happy with the overall quality of this model. The method that I used to model the body was to create a box made out of 4 meshes which I then tweaked which led to very smooth angle on the nose, corners, and back of the car. The roof was extrusion modelled incredibly well, with no indication that it started out as a box. The lights, mirrors and tires were also modelled like this. The door handles were created with a spline and the fuel filler cap was created via NURBS. The selection of simple materials used also fits the style of the mini cooper. Overall, I am proud of what I was able to learn and how I was able to improve from this module, shown by this model.
