We believe that today's college engineering students are more connected to, aware of, and interested in addressing global problems than any previous generation. We believe that they want a better understanding of how they can achieve their goals and how they can make a difference. We believe that they want to develop skills beyond the technical education they learn in traditional college curricula. We believe that they have the ability and drive to educate themselves; they only need guidance on what skills will help them succeed.
Our mission is to help students become better problem solvers and make a difference by helping them get good jobs in organizations where they can succeed. The educational modules we present here allow students to practice some of the most critical 'common skills' that are key to success. Among these skills are Critical Thinking (working with data, interpreting data, process thinking, drawing conclusions), Communication (to groups and to individuals, how to listen, interpret, and lead people to a common goal), Financial Literacy (how economics are used to describe value, make business decisions and drive change), and Personal Growth (overcoming setbacks and obstacles and learning from them).
We recommend that these modules are integrated into existing classroom settings to enhance the learning experience. Ask your instructors, teachers or professors how the exercises can be run and discussed in your classroom.
