Thursday, Sept. 3, 7:50–8:50 a.m. — First PTA meeting of the year. Join us in the EHES cafeteria for coffee and a light breakfast. All are welcome.
Thursday, Sept. 3, 6:00–7:00 p.m. — Kindergarten Meet Your Teacher. A chance for kindergarten families to meet their teacher now that class lists are final. Childcare will not be provided.
Sunday, Sept. 6, 9:00–11:00 a.m. — Garden Work Day. Bring the whole family to help get the EHES garden ready for the year. Come one, come all — and bring a water bottle and hat to stay cool.
Monday, Sept. 7 — Labor Day. Schools closed.
Thursday, Sept. 10, 5:30–7:00 p.m. — Blacktop Bash. Our annual back-to-school community night and the kickoff to the PTA's fall fundraiser. Come hungry — pizza and Kona Ice will be for sale — and bring chairs and blankets for your grade-level picnic area. Special guests: the Chapel Hill Fire Rescue team and RJ the UNC Mascot! All families are welcome. (Rain date: Friday, Sept. 11.)

Tuesday, Sept. 15, 6:00–7:00 p.m. — Virtual Curriculum Night. Teachers will give a high-level overview of the year ahead. Look for details from your teacher and Ms. McCann.
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 4:00–7:00 p.m. — Spirit Night at Jeni's Ice Cream. Head to Jeni's at University Mall — 25% of all sales during the event go to the EHES PTA. Ice cream for a good cause!
Monday, Sept. 21 — Teacher Work Day. No school for students.
