The interdisciplinary Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Engineering Centre (ESSENCE) at IIT Palakkad was established in 2021 to bring science, technology, and policy-making together to develop and demonstrate sustainable solutions for pressing socio-enviro-technical problems.
The food, energy, and water nexus is a concept that highlights the interconnection and interdependencies between these three essential resources. Sustainability and climate change are key considerations when exploring the nexus, as they play a significant role in shaping its dynamics. The objective of this symposium is to provide a platform to discuss policies and practices that promote resource efficiency, renewable energy adoption, sustainable agricultural practices, and responsible water management for a sustainable and resilient future.
