Esther Jones was selected as the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Student to give an oral presentation for this year's EVMS Research Day!
I am proud that the Kerscher Lab will present four posters at research day this year!
Katherine Routon, MS, Research Assistant - Investigating the efficacy of pHLIP-mediated delivery of antimirs against miR-888 and miR-891a to PCa cells.
Esther Jones, Biomedical Graduate Student - Glycosylated RNA - A Potential Marker for Prostate Cancer.
Trevor Fachko, M2 Medical Student - Role of the microRNA miR-888 cluster in prostate cancer cell plasticity and castration resistant disease.
Danxun Yi, M1 Medical Student - Profiling immuno-microRNAs present in human breast milk in the context of SARS-CoV-2.
Won 1st place for poster presentation by a Biomedical Master's Graduate Student during the EVMS Graduate Student Research Conference. February 2022
Won 1st place poster presentation at EVMS Summer Scholar Poster Session. July 2022. Poster title: : Profiling immuno-microRNAs targeting the SARS-CoV-2 virus in human milk.
Won 1st place oral presentation for the Department of Medicine 41st Annual Senior Scholarly Day, June 2022. Talk title: GlycoRNA in Prostate Cancer.
Frank Slack organized a lab reunion at Harvard to celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the discovery of the let-7 microRNA. This Slack lab reunion weekend was an amazing time to celebrate/share the scientific accomplishments of the lab alumni and reconnect with the Slack lab "family"!
Aurora Kerscher gave a talk titled "Noncoding RNAs as clinical targets for prostate cancer" at the Harvard Medical School Institute for RNA Medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as part of the reunion program.
Katherine was this year's recipient of the 2022 Timothy J. Bos Memorial Award in Biomedical Sciences!!!!!
This award is presented annually to recognize a graduating student from the Master’s of Biomedical Sciences Program who performed their research in the fields of Microbiology and/or Cancer Biology, demonstrated outstanding scholastic achievement, and exemplified the principles of collegiality and integrity.
Congratulations Katherine Routon for earning her Master's in Biomedical Sciences! May 2022.
Graduate Student Katherine Routon presented a poster titled "The role of the miR-888 cluster in castration-resistant prostate cancer and neuroendocrine transdifferentiation" at the Keystone Symposia Small Regulatory RNAs Meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico in May 2022.
Aurora Kerscher gave a short talk "The miR-888 Cluster Members as Clinical Targets for Prostate Cancer" and chaired the Emerging Topics in Small RNAs session at this meeting.
