Hola Queridos Padres y Estudiantes!
I am super excited to begin our first day of Spanish 1 with your student!
Spanish 1 will be an accelerated high school course, and will require dedication and commitment both in the classroom and each evening studying.
The class will be conducted in the Target Language except for grammar presentations. This is to allow students to make the connection to their dominant language of English.
We will complete the course in twenty -one weeks, and two weeks reviewing and preparing for the exit exam. You can expect weekly quizzes, and chapter tests, every two weeks. Performance assessments, in the form of projects, may take the place of a more traditional paper pencil test, as the course will be focusing on the four area skills of language learning: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
I will still hold help sessions on Thursdays, from 11:45 - 12:15 in my office, should you need the extra support. I encourage both students and parents to feel free and email me, or Dojo me with any questions, or concerns you may have. I will be creating a separate dojo class for Spanish 1 students as soon as I get the roster. I will post reminders for quizzes, tests, and project due dates, on both my website, and on the Dojo page.
