His interest in providing services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities started in 2001, when his brother was diagnosed with autism. Mr. Lugo watched his brother continually struggle with daily tasks at home and in the community. He also saw how difficult it was for his mother to balance her own life and keep up with day to day shopping, cooking, medical appointments and the overall quality of life she was trying very hard to provide for herself and her children.
