I updated Too Exciting for Bedtime: A Heroes’ and Victims’ Story. I originally wrote this fast, hoping Mariupol would be liberated. Now with more time, I fixed many mistakes and added to the story while making it more readable. I made many changes, close to one hundred I think. It is still not perfect, left one instance of "runs" instead of "ran" but I think this story is much improved. It is up on Smashwords now and hopefully soon it will be fixed on the Apple and Barnes & Noble sites. Enjoy and let me know what you think. Here is a sample for you:
"We asked Samantha about how she knew the
baby was there… and she said she could hear her crying and that she
had heard too many children bawling in Ukraine, and she just
couldn’t ignore this sobbing, this crying out for help, any
longer.”

A Writer's Climactic Close
Despite this last slight, Max didn’t quit on his old friend. He would laugh remembering the crazy promotion ideas Ellis had devised. Max would visit his grave each week and read one of E. S. Hazard’s best stories as loudly as he could. This often elicited dirty looks, but occasionally, a stranger, there for another reason, would come over and listen and sometime ask about the story being read. Max would have handouts ready with the name of the free story and where to download it from, requesting a review be written in return. Most times his tears were included, for no extra charge. As Hazard had requested in one drunken conversation the two friends had years before, the author’s name was left off the handouts. As Ellis had said at the time, he really did not want to be famous. He just wanted someone to remember his characters or one phrase he had written or just enjoy the story, hoping to divert a reader from their boring or desperate existence, being entertained for a brief moment making their day just a little more bearable. His characters and words were what was important and not the name of the unknown, no-talent writer. FREE Short Story, Smashwords – A Writer's Climactic Close – a book by E. S. Hazard

“Conniver was just like all tyrannical despots, they lack the imagination to consider that people would fight for all they are worth to be free and have a chance to raise a family in peace and laugh as they see their children enjoying themselves at some silly theme park rather than living in fear of being sent to some gulag in some terrible uninhabitable spot on the planet where they were forced to suffer until they died! Kareles Conniver received the fate she would gladly give to others without a second thought, so she reaped what she sowed!” Spellcaster finally finished

I am writing. My objective is to write something that a reader would find entertaining, and something to take their mind off their troubles. The story is the most important element to me. I would rather be a terrible writer and have a great story idea than be the best writer writing the most boring story. Hopefully, my stories are worth reading.

Is it okay to review and rate a book you've written? I was afraid to on Goodreads so I clicked that I read it but gave it no rating and no review. I was afraid that I would be kicked off the site if I rated it or reviewed it. 8/21/2020

8/19/2020 Hazard Onboard: Notes about Reviews 5 Star System
Some consider 2.5 stars an average review and I am okay with that. Just consider this: 2.5/5.0 = 50% and in A - F scale that is an F. Even a 4.0 star review is just 80% and in some grading scales that is a C or average.
