Institutionalizing “Receita Simples”: Implementing a Plain-Language Prescription Tool in the Federal District Health Secretariat (Brazil)

This presentation describes the development and institutional adoption of Receita Simples, a plain-language prescription tool designed to improve medication understanding, adherence, and patient safety. Originating in Primary Health Care and later incorporated into official policy by the Federal District Health Secretariat, the initiative demonstrates how low-cost communication technologies can support health literacy and accessibility at scale.

SimulaPacientes: AI-Generated Digital Patients for Health Sciences Education

This presentation introduces SimulaPacientes, a library of AI-generated digital patients developed to support clinical reasoning and communication skills in health sciences education. Using structured prompts and Google Gemini “Gems,” the project offers a scalable and low-cost simulation model that expands access to technology-enhanced learning while highlighting challenges related to assessment, governance, and educational quality.
