Okay, so you have your theme for the escape room covered. .....And you thought of the medium that you are using to create your escape room. Excellent! Now comes the fun part :-) Creating fun puzzles for your students.
I have categorised these pages into grammar & vocab, reading & literature, Culture & history and special occasions (like Christmas or St. Patrick's Day)
Some links can be used for more than one purpose, so I will try to collect them all on this homepage.
But first......When to choose what kind of puzzles you use in your escape room?
It depends on the level of the students. I would be more inclined to choose fun clips and easy jigsaws for the lower levels and intricate word puzzles for the upper levels. Also the way a code is formed can vary in difficulty as well. A code can be as simple as letters in a story, but it can also be an intricate code where the students have to read the instructions very carefully how to form the code. This can be an exercise in itself. Like making a sum of all the numbers that you found.
Multiply the first number with the second number and add up the third number to it.
You can turn letter or number codes into cyphers with symbols. Or you can let them do something else with the code such as: the code is the other way round. So A=Z B=Y, to let them use that brain.
