Presented by Sir Flores, the curriculum development is the process through which a school decides what its students are going to learn in school. It involves deciding what subjects are to be covered, subjects to be discussed, and what skills are to be achieved by the students. The overall purpose is so that there is an outline in place to guide both teachers to teach effectively and students to learn successfully. The educational objectives are well-defined goals, which define what a student should know or be able to do at the end of a course or program. They help instructors know what aspects of the instruction to major on and how to measure whether students have been able to learn it all. For me, effective curriculum development and clear educational objectives in successful teaching and learning. New curriculum development and clear educational objectives provide a well-organized learning environment that will be of good benefits to all students in terms of focusing on purpose, needs, content, methods, assessment, feedback, and flexibility.
Discussed by Sir Gonzalez, my reflection focuses upon that content and knowledge about certain subjects and topics. It helps cover main information but is often not stressing students interest and real-life application and student-centered approach focusing upon the needs, interests, and experiences of students. This method stimulates involvement and active learning wherein what should be learned is under students control.
Based on the teaching experiences I have, designing my lesson should involve flexibility, engagement, collaboration, and continuous reflection. Most approaches in the learning process offer different angles from which educators can learn and adopt them over time for better student needs.
