Our Marine Unit is our extensive amphibious capacity to operate on land and water.
This includes flood waters, swift water, ice rescue, mud and boat / watercraft response.
Members of the Marine Unit have to complete 3 phases of Marine Unit Proficiency (MUP) Levels 1 to 3. They also need additional complementary training such as powerboat operations or VHF Radio Operations and so on.
We train to many standards from NFPA 1006 Technical Rescue in water disciplines to the DEFRA Flood Rescue standards using the latest version of the Flood Rescue Concept of Operations (ConOps.) We are a UK DEFRA FRCO Type B and Type C team.
We have deployed to floods in the UK as well as missions abroad as well as working with many amazing groups such as the Royal Marine Commandos.
