In my capacity as a faculty member at Stevens Institute of Technology, I provide the following services:
DEI Committee Chair : leading and facilitating initiatives that promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organizational culture in the CS department of SIT.
Graduate Faculty Advisor : providing guidance, mentorship, and academic support to more than 200 graduate students.
First Generation Low Income (FGLI) mentor : offering guidance, support, and resources to five students who are the first in their family to attend college and come from low-income backgrounds.
CS NTT Search Committee Member: evaluating candidates, participating in the selection process, and contributing to decisions related to the appointment of non-tenure track faculty members.
CS Chair Search Committee Member: participating in the recruitment and selection process for the CS department chair position.
ADAPT Program Mentor: working on improving retention and graduation rates of our low-income (LI) students in STEM fields through scholarships and mentorship.
CS Department Academic Ambassador : responsible for representing and promoting the CS Department.
Google Developer Student Club (GDSC) Advisor: providing guidance, support, and oversight to the GDSC at SIT.
Stevens Women in CS (SWICS) Student Club Advisor: providing guidance, support, and oversight to the SWiCS at SIT
Moreover, my biggest passion is organizing community outreaching events and programs, mostly focusing on reducing the gender gap that exists in Computer Science. Some initiatives that I have been leading in the last couple of years can be find below.
