About me

A bit about me...

My name is Erinn and I started my journey towards becoming an educator by working in a day care. I have my ECE level 1 certification. I absolutely loved working with children in a day care setting. I thoroughly enjoyed helping them learn and grow as individuals. I have always been passionate about helping others and promoting social justice and equality. These values led me to a degree in Social Work with the hope that I would be able to help children in a meaningful way. I worked as a rural Mental Health Therapist with the Saskatchewan Health Authority following graduating from Social Work. I very much enjoyed my work in this career. I was able to work with individuals ranging from 5 years to 90 years old. When I was working as a Mental Health Therapist, I was able to speak with individuals about the mental health concerns they were experiencing. These concerns could be anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, grief and many more concerns. My role included teaching these individuals, in a developmentally appropriate way, about helpful coping strategies to aid in decreasing the symptoms they were experiencing. These negative symptoms could be due to mental health concerns or situational stressors. I also had the opportunity to teach parenting support to parents with children displaying difficult behaviour/mental health concerns.

I am very passionate about teaching youth and children about mental health concerns and how they can cope positively with day to day stressors. I would love to have the opportunity to speak to children in my career about how they can cope positively during their journey through life.

I am so excited to become a teacher and help my students grow into amazing individuals!

I also have a dog named Duke whom I love very much. He can be seen in the photo above.
