For the fall semester of my freshman year, I took ENGR 102, the introductory engineering course here at A&M. This course taught us the basics of Python programming and problem solving using programming. The code related to the class can be access in this Github repository, and projects that have their own pages will have their own repositories linked.
The most memorable project from this class for me was our final project, where we made a roleplaying battle game using Python. This project in particular was a little difficult to work on, primarily because it was a group project, and the idea for the game was not mine to start with. It taught me a lot about good collaboration, and gave me good experience with clarifying with others on what the end product needed to look like. These are valuable communication skills necessary for working with clients in the future, and I'm glad I had the chance to not only practice coding logic, but also those communication skills for the future.
During the year, I also participated in the TAMU Datathon and HackTX, a hackathon. The project created from HackTX can be found here.
