Discussion: The goal of the project was to determine whether or not the auto shop that previously stood where part of the garden is located has impacted the soil conditions present and impacted plant growth. Throughout our numerous tests comparing soil pH, moisture content, and biodiversity between the two soil locations, all of our tests showed that the two samples were not statistically significant.
Conslusion: It can then be concluded that the auto shop remnants are not impacting the soil conditions and therefore should not impact plant growth. There are most likely other factors present in the garden that would be impacting plant growth and further testing could be done to test other conditions.
Acknowledgements: The members of this team would like to thank everyone for their help during this project. The project would not have the same impact without the help from Dr. Jacob Adler, Ayomide Unuigbokhai, and the TI team. They would also like to thank Purdue University for providing the proper resources in order to complete the project.
