My Chapter Program of Activities (POA), developed in my ALEC 234 course with my fellow classmates, outlines how I will support and guide students involved in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), specifically within the FFA. The POA serves as a comprehensive strategic plan for the chapter, detailing a wide range of activities, competitions, and events that the FFA chapter will participate in throughout the year. It highlights student engagement in local, state, and national FFA competitions, leadership conferences, and community service initiatives. Additionally, the POA includes chapter-hosted events such as educational workshops, recruitment activities, and fundraisers aimed at building leadership and agricultural literacy within the school and community. The document also outlines professional development opportunities I will pursue, such as conferences, training sessions, and leadership institutes, to enhance my effectiveness as an agricultural educator and CTSO advisor. Through this structured plan, I aim to foster student growth, promote career readiness, and build a strong, dynamic FFA chapter.
My Unit Plan, developed during my student teaching semester in Scottsbluff, serves as a comprehensive instructional roadmap for the courses I am responsible for teaching. It includes detailed lesson plans for each course, carefully aligned with both state and national agricultural education standards. Each unit is purposefully designed to incorporate Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) into daily instruction, ensuring that students not only gain academic knowledge but also develop practical, real-world skills.
Throughout the plan, I have embedded opportunities for students to connect classroom content with CTSO events, including Career Development Events (CDEs), Leadership Development Events (LDEs), and Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs). These activities help reinforce key concepts, promote active learning, and support career readiness. By aligning instruction with CTSO opportunities, I am helping students recognize the real-world application of their learning, while equipping them with the leadership, technical, and problem-solving skills necessary for success both in and beyond the classroom.
