I'm Eric Gao, a first-year economics PhD student at MIT. I completed my undergraduate at Stanford studying Economics, Mathematics, and Computational Social Science. My CV can be found here.
I am interested in game theory, mechanism design, and behavioral economics. In particular, I study how tools from economic theory can be used to engineer incentives to ameliorate the misallocation of resources. So far, my research hasn't revolved around a specific set of tools, but rather is centered around a particular market I am interested in.
In addition to doing economics research, I enjoy teaching others about how economics can be used to analyze human behavior at a much more intricate level than basic supply and demand. Check out my Notes and Cool Things for my more expositional work! I like cats, climbing, and memes.
