My name is Eric Burkholder. I am a fifth-year Ph.D. Candidate in the Mathematics Department at the University of Kentucky, advised by Dr. Dave Jensen.

I am currently on the academic job market for positions starting in Summer or Fall 2027. 

My current research focuses on tropical analogues of structures appearing in algebraic geometry, particularly tropical linear series. I 

My friend Eric Yager and I recently co-founded ResearchRoomies, an online platform designed to help academics coordinate shared lodging and transportation costs for conferences. ResearchRoomies is currently in testing and development, with plans to open for general use in the near future. 

My colleague Ian Robinson wrote A Tutorial for Microsoft Bookings which I edited. The tutorial provides guidance for teachers setting up Microsoft Bookings to simplify office-hours scheduling, with particular attention to common mistakes and pitfalls when first configuring the tool.
