The Embry-Riddle ASCE Student Chapter hosts weekly general body meetings focused on professional development, student engagement, and community building. Meetings feature guest speakers from industry, professional workshops such as resume reviews and interview preparation, and interactive activities including friendly competitions like the Gingerbread Earthquake Simulator Competition. These events provide members with opportunities to develop professionally, apply engineering concepts, and connect with fellow students and industry professionals.Â
The ASCE Southeast Student Symposium is an annual conference that brings together universities from across the Southeast to compete in hands-on and technical competitions such as Concrete Canoe, Timber-Strong, Surveying, and Sustainable Solutions. These events allow students to apply classroom concepts in real-world scenarios while developing technical, leadership, and teamwork skills alongside other aspiring engineers.
Preparation for conference competitions begins in the fall semester, providing students with endless opportunities throughout the year to get involved and join a team. Competition teams are open to students of all experience levels and provide an excellent way to get involved within the chapter while representing Embry-Riddle at the regional level.
