Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is the nation’s oldest engineering society and represents more than 160,000 members across over 177 countries. ASCE was established to advance the science and profession of civil engineering while promoting infrastructure that improves communities and quality of life worldwide.
Today, ASCE supports both professionals and students through technical resources, professional development, leadership opportunities, and networking experiences. With hundreds of student chapters nationwide, ASCE continues to prepare future civil engineers to lead and innovate within the built environment.
Founded in 1926, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) has grown into one of the world’s leading institutions for aviation, aerospace, engineering, and applied sciences education. The university relocated to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1965, where the Daytona Beach Campus continues to serve as the university’s residential flagship campus and a center for innovation and technical education.
The ERAU ASCE Student Chapter, founded in 2012, is a passionate community of aspiring civil engineers dedicated to fostering academic excellence, professional development, leadership, and community engagement. As an affiliated chapter of ASCE, members are connected to a global network of industry professionals and valuable technical resources. Through hands-on projects, technical workshops, guest speakers, conferences, competitions, and service initiatives, the chapter provides students with opportunities to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom while developing meaningful professional connections. Since its founding, the chapter has continued to grow in both membership and impact, building a strong reputation for involvement, collaboration, and student success within the civil engineering community.
