Managing and leading Sustainable teaching now acquires a critical role and Learning is much more than courses and lessons alone. The platform has been designed to provide meaningful and accessible content for Environmental Education and Sustainable Citizenship for Middle and Upper Secondary Schools with Lesson Plans, Essays, Educational materials to be used in the classroom. Technologies have been incorporated in the design and practices of the learning environment. The innovation of our lessons is mainly in the use of appropriate technologies, coaching, open dialogues, peer exchange, resource hubs and the results of close interaction with stakeholders. This platform is more like a knowledge marketplace where information, research and results are the work of professionals from diverse disciplines and school backgrounds with the aim to create an ongoing dialogue and exchange among the different European schools. Teachers of almost any subject can draw inspiration from creative lessons with quizzes and games and multidisciplinary task based projects with the ITC and innovative methodologies such as Outdoor Learning , Flipped classroom , Cooperative learning and Learning by doing.

The lessons have been planned and tested in classes by the project teachers in the partner schools also in an international context and are available in 5 languages. Focusing on the student-centred learning approach, the content of the e-learning platform serves as leverage not only for ESD but also for durable long-standing learning. It raises awareness about sustainability and provides incentives (nudges) for further studies according to the interest of the beneficiary rather than providing the typical frame to study sustainability topics. It also allows for flexibility, the user being able to choose the level of knowledge to be acquired. On the other side, the teacher becomes a tutor, mentoring and guiding the learner on its path to understand and apply and act sustainably. The platform is an open source which can be implemented by all teachers who would like to share their experiences and expertise with us.

The global pandemic has accelerated the use of digital tools, but it has also highlighted the challenge of the digital divide. To ensure that our recovery efforts are inclusive and sustainable, we will continue to strive to make our learning solutions of good quality, widely available, accessible in european languages.
