“Istituto Comprensivo Romagnoli-Solito” (Romagnoli-Solito Comprehensive School) is located in the heart of Gela, on the beautiful Mediterranean coast of Sicily.

Gela is a historic town on the southern coast of Sicily, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Founded as a Greek colony in the 7th century BC, the city still preserves important traces of its ancient past.

Among its main archaeological sites are the Timoleon’s Walls, the Acropolis and the Doric Column, symbol of the ancient Greek presence in the area. Gela is also home to the Regional Archaeological Museum and the Museum of the Greek Ships.

The surrounding area features a varied landscape, with sandy beaches, dunes and natural reserves such as the Biviere Nature Reserve. Along the coast, the Torre di Manfria, a historic watchtower, overlooks an unspoilt Mediterranean shoreline.

Today, Gela combines history, culture and natural landscapes, offering a meaningful context for education and European cooperation.

Istituto Comprensivo “Romagnoli – Solito” is one of the main educational institutions in Gela, with a long history of service to the local community. The school was established in 1940 and today plays an important role in the educational, social and cultural life of the area.

The Institute includes a kindergarten, a primary school and a lower secondary school, offering continuous education for children from 3 to 13 years old. This allows the school to build and implement a coherent vertical curriculum that supports students throughout their first years of education.
