'Opening our mind to European ways of teaching'

'Opening our mind to European ways of teaching' is a project designed by the CEPER Giner de los Ríos. Our school is aimed at the education for adults and located in La Zubia, Granada. It is made up of different sections distributed around 25 villages in the metropolitan, southern and rural areas of the town. It belongs to the official Network of Schools for Adults in the region of Andalusia.  Our educational offer is as wide as our human and educational resources allow, covering  compulsory plans , formal and non-formal programmes which involves working in free and blended modality and in cooperation with different high schools and official schools of Languages of Granada. Besides, we collaborate with the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE) because we believe an adult school should approach the students to the world of work.

Our field of work is wide and each area has its own idiosyncrasy but there is a common problem that is the early dropout and absenteeism of students. For this reason, last year we attached to a project and collaborated with the University of Granada to minimize the effect of absenteeism in our classrooms. Therefore, we believe that joining the Erasmus + programs is the natural step we must take to offer our students a quality education aimed at improving learning outcomes, employability and language learning as reflected in our Educational Plan of the Center and in the Management Project. We believe  the resources that our environment offers us have been already incorporated into our teaching process, and for that reason, we want to learn in Europe different approaches to change the current results.
