Agustin Gonzalez

Agustin Gonzalez is currently Principal at historic Thomas Jefferson High School in South Los Angeles. He holds a bachelor's degree in International Economics with a Minor in International Studies from the #1 public university, University of California at Los Angeles, and a master's in educational administration from National University. He began his teaching career at Soto Street in Elementary School in Boyle Heights. His work with a Special Education teacher led him to frame his philosophy about including students with disabilities with general education students. He began his administrative career as an Assistant Principal at Ford Blvd. Elementary School in East Los Angeles. He became Principal at Hillside Elementary School in Lincoln Heights, before returning to Ford Blvd. Elementary School as Principal. He worked with Special Education, General Education, and support staff, to develop Intervention Cohorts that led to the school being recognized as a CA Gold Ribbon School in 2017. He moved on to work with older students as a Principal at Nightingale Middle School and Thomas Jefferson High School where he started in 2015. His philosophy in education is about building relationships and providing hope for students in inner city Los Angeles.
