2125 students of E P High School served in World War II
The 76 students killed in action, along with many, but not all, of the names on the 2125 list below, have been written into the current version of EP Military Service Honor Roll. Thank you East Providence Historical Society (ephist.org) for finding and sharing this list in 2020.
The left hand plaque beside the Pierce Memorial Stadium gates mentions that 2125 students of E P High School served in World War II. Who are they? At the request of the EPVMER 2021 Committee, a list of their names was found in the EP Historical Society Archives in early 2020. The file was broken down into two sections: graduates and non-graduates. The names of female students follow at the end of each list of men's names. Two PDF files of the original scanned list are posted here. The non-graduate list has no G, Q, and X last names. Please submit their names if you know who is missing.
These names have been typed to make it easier to read. But some names and dates are illegible. The committee is seeking readers of cursive handwriting to check the spellings. Please inquire if interested.
Non-graduate list (37 pages) , then the graduate list (64 pages) are posted as pdf files. Best to view using a computer vs. cell phone.
