February 19, 2026: Coffee Craving Fundraiser!
The den is ideally a group of six to eight children who are in the same grade. It is the place where Cub Scouting starts. In the den, Cub Scouts develop new skills and interests, practice sportsmanship and good citizenship, and learn to do their best, not just for themselves but for the den as well.
Den meetings can be held at various locations. Our meeting locations generally include the Epping American Legion, Epping Community Church, Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library, or Epping Elementary School. We have destination meetings several times a year, including UNH Observatory, Epping Safety Complex, and Fox Run Conservatory.
At least two adults, including the den leader and assistant den leader, must attend all den meetings. Tiger den meetings include each Tiger’s adult partner, while Wolf, Bear, and Webelos meetings may have a den chief or other youth leader assisting. Family members typically do not attend these meetings unless specifically asked to help.
Cub Scout den meetings include several parts: preparation, gathering activities, an official opening ceremony, brief talk time for business, age-appropriate activities, a quiet closing, and a post-meeting review by leaders. Each part ensures the meeting is organized, engaging, and productive.
