1 Peter 4:12-19

Ah yes, the fiery trial. With Joy? Glorifying God?
The average person does not find a fiery trial joyful, and they are more likely to curse God than glorify Him when it happens.
And what's this about "to test you"? Why would I be tested?
So what can the Bible say to convince me that fiery trials are good?

Hope through Trials (4:12-19)
With Joy (4:12-14)
Beloved, do not think that the fiery trial that has come among you, to test you, is unusual,
as if a strange thing was happening.
13 Instead, to the degree that you share in the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing,
so that you may rejoice even more when His remarkable glory is revealed.
14 You are blessed if you are insulted because of the Name of Christ,
because the Spirit of glory, who is the Spirit of God7, rests on you.
15
Glorifying God (4:15-19)
Let none of you suffer as a
murderer,
or thief,
or evildoer,
or as a meddler in other people’s affairs.
16 However, if anyone suffers because he is a Christian,
he should not be ashamed, but instead,
glorify God in that name.
17 Because judgement will soon begin, starting with the household of God.
And if it begins with us,
what will be the end for those who reject the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous person suffers difficulties,
being saved,
what will become of the sinner without God?
19 Therefore, let those suffering according to the will of God, commit their own souls to the faithful Creator by doing good.
