Disaster Response

Response Stage

In this stage, the goal of decision makers is to reduce the loss of life and property while limiting the impact to the environment. This can be done by having a plan to:

  • Communicate - Reach out to aid organizations and specialized first responders to bring in resources quickly and at high volume.

  • Coordinate - Have a thorough understanding of the responsibilities and actions of everyone's roles.

  • Respond to Immediate Needs - Search & rescue, medical care, food & water, etc.
