Project Description: For this project, I researched and shared cybersecurity attacks that can cause distress to one's self and others.
Cybersecurity in the News Articles
According to the article, the malware called deepload is a new malware that steals people's important documents. The malware goes into the system, installs corrupted browser extensions and spread to the USB drive while avoiding detection, it is sent to people through fake error messages. This is a malware attack that deceived people to copy and paste a command from an message in their browser to fix a problem that installs the malware to their devices. This attack directly affected window users that saw the messages and did what it told. A way to prevent this type of incident is to check if there are any updates to their devices and always update , double check messages from websites and verify from the main source, and use antivirus tools.

A man from Los Angeles called Warris Bokhari, had received a surprise 1099-k from an uber for a income he never earned, he later found out someone had stolen his identity and used it to work at Uber. The article also shows an increasing rate in employment related identity theft, it made victims responsible for "phantom income" and it take a while for the IRS to solve the issue. This was an identify theft issue that put people in a lot trouble. The people who have to file their taxes at this time are the people affected by identity theft. Identity theft can be prevented by using strong and unique passwords, setting up two factor authentication, always checking your credit card or freeze it when needed and ignore/report unexpected text and emails.

Lessons Learned:
By completing this project, I learned about how we can protect ourselves from cybersecurity attacks and prevent attacks from happening. After this lesson I have taken steps to increase the security of any important files I have in my device, and took notes of where to go for help incase I am a victim of any cybersecurity attacks.
