研究の進め方

• 初期段階では、講義形式で研究テーマを紹介し、研究に必要な基礎知識を学びます。また、実験機器の操作方法を習得し、実験から得られたデータをもとに成果物（グラフの作成や統計解析など）を作成する方法を学びます。

• 卒業研究のテーマを選定します。基本的には教員が提示したテーマの中から学生に選んでもらう形ですが、学生の意見を反映したテーマ設定も可能です。

• その後は、実験によるデータの取得 → 実験結果の意味を理解するための文献（論文）調査 → 次の段階の実験計画の立案、という流れで研究を進めていきます。

• 2週間に一度、キム研のメンバー全員が集まり、ゼミを行います。ゼミのために、A4用紙1枚以内でゼミ資料を作成します（半分がグラフ、半分が結果の説明となるイメージ）。一人あたりの発表時間はおよそ5分程度です。その後、質問をしたり、自由に意見交換を行います。

• ゼミを通してフィードバックを受け、次のステップとなる実験を一緒に設定します。

• ゼミ資料を統合することで、卒業論文をまとめることが可能です。

生活面について

• 本研究では、研究という機会を通じて、先生や先輩・後輩たちと強い絆を築き、社会に出た後もお互いを支え合える関係を目指しています。お花見やたこ焼きパーティー、ゼミ旅行などのイベントを通じて、「一つのチーム」としての研究室をつくっていきたいと考えています。

• 学生研究室には、各自に割り当てられた机が用意されています。研究室に滞在するコアタイムは平日の9時から16時までですが、帰宅時間については、やることやっていれば特に干渉することはありません。研究室では、レポートなどの個人勉強をしても問題ありません。

• 韓国の大学との交流や学会での発表など、様々なコミュニケーションの機会を積極的に提供するとともに、それに関連する活動にかかる費用を支援いたします。海外への渡航や、大勢の人の前での発表など、慣れない道を歩むことには不安や恐れを感じるかもしれません。しかし、そうした経験は間違いなく成長のチャンスになります。私は、皆さんがその道に迷うことのないよう、しっかりと導いていきたいと考えています。

Your excellent academic achievements (academic transcript) in previous school and list of publication can ensure scholarships from various institutions. Scholarships are available from the Japanese government, local governments, private foundations, and local international associations. Prof. Kim will assist you in completing the application for your scholarship. 

• ABP scholarship
  For ABP Master's course admission, it is expected that maximum 20 students from the ABP countries will receive financial support of 40,000 JPY per month for the first 12 months. All successful applicants will be evaluated for this financial aid (no need for application), and the recipients will be selected according to their performance at the entrance examinations (document screening and interview examination).
  
  About JASSO Scholarship (Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students)
  Shizuoka University recommends students, who are selected based on their performance at the entrance examinations, to JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) as the scholarship candidates. Please note that the candidates are required to have a certain level of English language proficiency (equivalent to or above CEFR B2 level) to be eligible for this scholarship.
  
  Notes:
  (1) In case of any changes in the application requirements, announcement(s) will be made on the JASSO website around February. Please check for updates regularly.
  (2) Satisfying all the eligibility requirements does NOT mean your JASSO scholarship is guaranteed.
  (3) Students applying for Shizuoka University from within Japan are NOT eligible for this JASSO scholarship.

• MEXT scholarship
  Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of the Japanese government provides MEXT Scholarship supporting international students to study in Japanese universities. The candidates are selected based on the recommendations of the Japanese Embassy/Consulate General in your country or Shizuoka University. For the Embassy Recommendation, please directly contact the Japanese embassy or consulate general in your country. For the University recommendation, the candidates are usually selected in January for the enrollment in October next year, based on the recommendation from potential supervisors. If you are interested in the application for this scholarship, please contact Prof. Kim in November or December.
    Note that minimum requirement for MEXT scholarship application is English level B2 or higher in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). B2 in CEFR may be almost equivalent with 5.5 in IELTS, 72 in TOEFL iBT, and 680 in TOEIC.

• Externally funded scholarships

• JSPS Research Fellowships for Young Scientists
  Awarded to excellent young researchers in Japan, these fellowships offer the fellows an opportunity to focus on a freely chosen research topic based on their own innovative ideas. Ultimately, the program works to foster and secure excellent researchers. The program offers four categories of fellowships:

  • • • Doctoral Course (DC) Research Fellowships

      • Postdoctoral (PD) Research Fellowships

      • Restart Postdoctoral (RPD) Research Fellowships

      • Cross-border Postdoctoral (CPD) Fellowships

The DC2 category is a scholarship for students enrolled in a doctoral course in Japan. In other words, if you study abroad at your own   expense, you can receive a scholarship starting from the second year.
