My research is primarily guided by questions such as:
How do cognitive styles and biases relate to morality, religious belief/nonbelief, political ideology, and cooperative behavior?
What constitutes morality, what are its fundamental components, and what are their functions?
How can we find common ground for groups with distinct moral priorities, such as polarized political factions?
What are the contextual and individual factors that influence cooperative decision-making? How can we effectively promote cooperation among individuals and groups?
Does religion enhance morality and cooperation by fostering self-control? May this be one of the key factors behind its evolutionary selection?
How can we establish robust methods and effective manipulations to experimentally address these questions?
My research values are the cornerstones of my work:
Critical Thinking and Devil's Advocacy: I prioritize meticulous critical thinking, continuously refining research methods and strategic planning. I adeptly challenge assumptions and ideas, playing the role of a seasoned devil's advocate.
Teamwork: Collaboration is key to fewer errors and achieving higher-quality outcomes. I thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Solving complex problems requires a holistic approach. I actively engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to tackle questions comprehensively.
Open Science: Transparency is vital in my research. I follow open science practices, including:
- Preregistration: I preregister all my studies to ensure transparency in the research process.
- Registered Reports: I embrace the registered report format for publishing, which ensures that research findings are valued for their rigor and methodology.
- Reproducible Data, Code, and Materials: I believe in sharing data and research materials to facilitate scientific progress and reproducibility.
