This program provides opportunities for students to work with academic/industry partners on computing-related projects for up to 20 hours per semester. We’ll implement a dual mentoring system to simplify the project management for academic/industry partners to focus on assigning tasks and achieving the project goals.

The Integrated Information Technology (IIT) Capstone Program at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) is designed to prepare students for both technical proficiency and personal success in the field of information technology. The program establishes a "technology talent pipeline" that connects students with industry partners, facilitating practical experience and professional development.

Expected Student Roles & Responsibilities: Assist with capstone expo preparation (2-3 weeks prior to the capstone expo), which includes working with the capstone instructor setting up for the capstone expo, meeting with student groups in preparation for the expo, meeting with capstone clients, and serving as capstone ambassador during the expo on April 22, 2025.

This project focuses on the development of deep learning, machine learning, data mining, and evolutionary algorithms for knowledge discovery and innovation in material science. The current focus is on crystal structure prediction.
