We are a Chemical Biology group. The broad goals of our research are the design and synthesis of peptidomimetics as: 1) structural and functional mimics of biologically active motifs; 2) structural scaffolds and templates for propagation of peptide secondary structure and higher order structures; and 3) molecules for probing the structural and mechanistic principles in biological processes. The design and characterization of the synthesized peptide-based constrained molecules involve an extensively integrated approach, where computational analysis, NMR, IR, CD, fluorescence and UV spectroscopy, calorimetry, chromatography and crystallography, are among the methods used.
