The ENLC first began our childcare services in 2008 with the goal of re-enforcing positive sources of strength for the family unity through the education and development of young minds. Today our mission stills hold true to the goal we started with as we work with children ages 3 and up. We continue to strive to collaborate with parents and community organizations to work together in maintaining a solid relationship for children and their families. Bright from the Start is responsible for meeting the child care and early education needs of Georgia’s children and their families. It administers the nationally recognized Georgia’s Pre-K Program, licenses child care centers and home-based child care, administers Georgia's Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS) program, federal nutrition programs, and manages Quality Rated, Georgia’s community powered child care rating system.
The Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS) program is designed to help low income families afford safe quality child care. The CAPS program is administered in all 159 Georgia counties by the local county Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS).The CAPS program can subsidize the cost of child care for children who are US citizens or legal residents and under age 13.
