The blessing ceremony will be held in Kiikka church on the 2nd of December 2023 at 13:00. The ceremony will be held in Swedish and Finnish.
For those of you who are not traveling together in the bride and groom's planned transport (see Travel information below), we recommend that you arrive half an hour before the ceremony starts to ensure that everyone is on time, gets to greet each other and take their seats, and that we can start the festivities according to the program!
The reception will be held at Ellivuori Resort on the 2nd of December 2023 at 17:00.
Semi-formal (Dark suit)
Preferably with a Christmas twist
We appreciate you thinking of the following:
Michaela will be wearing white and will accidentally trip and spill her red wine over anybody who arrives wearing all-white. (You have been warned!)
Red is a nice and christmassy colour - it is 100% okay to wear the colour.
In church, shoulders and knees should be covered.
There will be some walking outside - consider bringing winter shoes and an extra coat for the ceremony (you can always switch back to “inside shoes” before the reception starts).
The Dresscode applies to the wedding ceremony and reception, for all other events there is no dress code, but Mårten and Michaela will be sticking to the christmas theme throughout our stay - join us if you feel like it!
Christmas!!!
We have a Christmas theme at our wedding and you are welcome to incorporate the CHRISTMAS theme into your attire and mindset. Put on a Santa hat, come in your favourite Christmas Eve-attire or with other Christmas accessories incorporated in your outfit. Why not bring a full Santa suit in your bag - you might even be able to compete for the title of “best Santa ever”?!?! Sing carols, drink mulled wine and discuss your favourite reindeer. Proclaim to your table neighbour "Married Christmas"!

Ride sharing
For those who need it, transportation from Ellivuori to Kiikka church and back will be arranged by the wedding couple.
Some ride sharing to and from the airport/harbour can be arranged - let the bride and groom know your needs.
We want to make it as easy as possible for all our guests - talk to Michaela or Mårten and we can help with solutions!
Ellivuori mountain is situated in Sastamala county in Finland and is the tallest mountain for miles and miles. It is 145 m above sea level and around 87 m above the closest lake’s water level (wow!). During the 1960’s the mountain became a popular leisure centre when the people in the villages close by built a small ski lodge and dance-hall at the base of the mountain. In 1970 a hotel was built and since then the Ellivuori Ski Resort has expanded more - adding frisbeegolf, a skate park, climbing park, and other activities.
The Hotel has a restaurant which serves local food as well as a pizzeria.
Guests of Michaela and Mårten will be getting a 10 % discount for online bookings of hotel rooms for the week of the wedding. The discount code is in your personal Invitation.

As travel and accommodations are not provided Michaela and Mårten do not expect any gifts other than your participation. However, we would really appreciate a beautiful card with your favourite quote about love.
As there are a large number of guests invited, the bride and groom cannot promise that everyone will have the opportunity to speak or perform. If you are interested - contact the wedding couple.
