The village council consists of several communities: Red Lighthouse, Krupitsa, Monastyrskoe and several other villages. In the Red Lighthouse there is the Bizyukovsky St. George Monastery, which is over 200 years old.
St. Grigorievsky Bizyukov Monastery is a male monastery, in the past it occupied the second place in Ukraine after the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. In some sources, you can read another name "Tauride Athos" - this name was given to the monastery because it has underground passages and caves underground, which in the past were used by the first settlers to hide from nomadic peoples, as well as Cossacks and Christians who wanted to retire .
The history of the St. Grigorievsky Bizyukov Monastery dates back to the end of the 18th century, when it was first mentioned. The official founding date is considered to be 1804 - when Emperor Alexander I issued an order to transform the Novogrigoryevskaya Hermitage into the Bizyukov Monastery. By the end of the 19th century, the monastery consisted of about 5 churches (Pokrovskaya, Grigorovskaya, Three Hierarchs, Panteleimonovskaya and Spasskaya) and the Cathedral of the Ascension of the Lord. Artists from Italy came to paint these churches. It is worth noting that the monastery became the center of agriculture: wheat was grown here, yields were higher than the average for the then Kherson province, grapes, from which monastery wine was made, a large number of animals and orchards.
Now the monastery is a place of pilgrimage for many Christians from all over Ukraine and the world and not only, because you can come here for the purpose of historical research of the territory.
